In today's world, we have two distinct realms - the physical and the virtual or networked realm. soma toru is a member of steppen wolf, an elite hacking group that operates freely in the digital landscape. their last mission involved attacking the un forces' database, resulting in the loss of nonomura yuya, their team leader and friend. as punishment for his involvement, toru was arrested by the military and forced to work with the first squad of the un security force information administration bureau. while working for this organization, toru is driven to find out who killed his friend. meanwhile, other members of the squad also have their own motivations for fighting against various entities such as terrorist groups, security enterprises, and armies. despite appearing independent at first glance, these events all converge towards a single event that seems to be attracted by an underlying force or purpose. this narrative is inspired by giga's game.
