The narrative centers around the 108th guard squad, situated in aomori. this squad is under-equipped and has minimal military standing, often seen as a rejection camp for pilots who do not meet the standards of elite units located in hokkaido. despite their perceived weakness, enemy forces continue to advance towards them, putting both the 108th and the rest of the empire at risk. the young pilots of the 108th, who had hoped to return home, are suddenly thrust into a war they never expected.
