Charlotte, who resides on a Canadian farm with her father, learns that her previously thought deceased mother is actually alive and will soon join them in Paris. Although initially upset, Charlotte eventually comes to terms with this news. However, just as she adjusts, her father unexpectedly passes away. Now, Charlotte must confront numerous difficulties. Her grandfather, a member of her fathers noble family, demands that she return home. She has never met her mother and is unfamiliar with Parisian life. Additionally, a landowner seeks to take possession of her fathers farm.
