In 2225 AD, Kouji Aiba and Aoi Housen are undergoing astronaut training at Liebe Delta, a space station situated near the Geduld Sea's edge. Suddenly, during a routine dive procedure, unknown-intent saboteurs strike, causing the spacecraft to plummet into the plasma field that connects all planets like a nervous system and destroys any vessel straying too far from it. Tragically, all adults onboard are killed, leaving behind only the young astronauts who must now endure this perilous journey back home amidst escalating tensions amongst themselves. Meanwhile, those responsible for the sabotage watch with intent and plan to attack again.

The series won the Television Award in the 5th Animation Kobe Awards in 2000.
