An astronaut named Jess is sentenced to time in a penal colony on a distant planet after being accused of rebellion against Earth's ruling federation. There he meets an elderly woman who teaches him about the true meaning of life and love, drawing inspiration from Japanese Noh drama "Kurozuka." The story was originally published as a short manga in "The Lion Books" before being adapted into an animated series.
