The narrative revolves around Hidari Taisho, who receives a prophecy from a fortune teller that he must capture 1000 foxes in order to seize control of the nation. To accomplish this task, Akuemon, a man loathed by all, is enlisted for the job. However, upon his arrival at Akuemons residence, a female fox disguised as his wife appears, and an emotional journey unfolds between them. This story marks the sixth installment in "The Lion Books" series and represents Tezuka Makoto's first attempt to adapt one of his father's works into an animated format.
