On August 1945, at a former religious school located near Nagasaki, a physician provides medical care to his patients while receiving disturbing information about an innovative weapon employed by the Americans against Hiroshima. As the second atomic bomb is detonated over Nagasaki, the hospital staff must work tirelessly to save lives amidst the deadly patterns of destruction that their city has been engulfed in.
