Another day brings another reward for the crew of Bebop, but this routine is disrupted when Faye witnesses an oil tanker explode on Mars while chasing a worthless target. The blast causes mass hysteria and a deadly disease spreads among those affected by the smoke. A huge bounty of 300 million woolongs is placed on the head of the suspected perpetrator, putting lives at risk and providing a solution to their financial problems. Spike, Jet, Faye, Edward, and Ein split up to investigate different leads across Alba City. Through their individual investigations, they uncover a cover-up scheme involving a pharmaceutical company that reaches far beyond what the bounty hunters could have imagined.
