Uta Sakura is a vibrant and spirited high school student with a passion for singing. On her way home from school with her dog, she encounters Purirun, a charming fairy seeking the Legendary Protectors "Idol Precure." KirakiLand, Purirun's hometown, has been engulfed in darkness due to the nefarious deeds of Darkine, leader of the Chokkiri Gang. In order to restore KirakiLand's radiance, Purirun enlists Uta's help in finding joyful individuals to become Precure.
As fate would have it, the Chokkiri Gang descends upon Hanamichi Town, Uta's hometown, and steals its sparkle. In response, Uta harnesses her song's power and transforms into Cure Idol, the legendary protector.
