The film Piano no Mori follows the story of Shuuhei Amamiya, a new student at Moriwaki Elementary School who is known for his exceptional talent in playing the piano. However, upon arriving at school, he becomes a target of bullying from Daigaku Kanehira, a classmate who challenges him to find and play a cursed piano located deep within the forest. This quest leads Shuuhei to encounter Kai Ichinose, an outsider from the rough parts of town who claims ownership of the piano and is the only one capable of playing it. Impressed by Kai's skill, Shuuhei decides to follow him to the hidden piano in the forest and listens as he plays a stunning medley. As a result, both Shuuhei and school music teacher Sousuke Ajino gain respect for Kai, leading him to receive formal piano lessons.
