The leaders of competing car companies decide to compete against each other by supporting different racing teams. Chairman Gapporin selects Okkanabichi, a renowned racer, while Chairman Misaki chooses Riki Kazama, an inexperienced driver for the flying car known as Machine Hiryu. This Tatsunoko production combines elements of Speed Racer and Time Bokan, with characters such as Nana, Chuta, the cute ape and dog, and glamorous villains in the background. Early work from notable creators like Yoshitaka Amano and Kunio Okawara is typical of the studio style. Manga adaptations of this story were published in magazines such as Terebi Magazine and Terebi Land. The Japanese animation industry experienced a racing craze during this time, which can be compared to Arrow Emblem from the same period.
