In a future not too far away, Earth has become uninhabitable and all humans have vanished. The only beings left are advanced robots designed for eternal life. However, one robot named Luna passed away, causing an event known as "The Ruin." Despite their immortality, the robots' bodies will eventually rust, leaving them with no choice but to contemplate their own mortality. A myth circulates among them that eating a being called Casshern can grant eternal life. Though ignorant of his past and purpose, Casshern must embark on a journey to discover the truth about this world and end the constant pursuit by robots who fear death.
