In elementary school, Fumi Manjoume and Akira Okudaira were close friends. However, when Fumi's family moved away, their friendship ended. Years later, Fumi returns to her hometown and attends Matsuoka Girls' High School. There, she reunites with Akira, who is attending Fujigatani Girls' Academy. Despite their reunion, their relationship isn't the same as it was before. Popular senior Yasuko Sugimoto takes notice of Fumi and flatters her more than any other underclassmen. Fumi must learn to be independent and stand on her own two feet instead of following in someone else's footsteps. Meanwhile, Akira still wants their friendship to be as it once was. The girls must navigate the high school stage of growing up before it pulls them apart.
