By the Time the Moon Rises, 月がのぼるまでに

In Japan, a father and daughter ascend to the peak of a hill in order to witness the moon's ascent. While they do so, an elderly gentleman shares his tale with them. This narrative is inspired by Tetsuya Takedas work on the bond between a Japanese kid and an American soldier.
