When the sky turns red and monsters roam the streets, Satsuki Kakeru is unsure of how to proceed. Along with his friend Yuka, they attempt to comprehend why they have been transported to this unfamiliar world, which seems devoid of inhabitants aside from themselves. However, when the "Red Night" concludes, Kakeru and Yuka believe it was all a dream until it occurs again, leaving them in a precarious situation. They encounter four others who are also lost: Kusakabe Misuzu, an accomplished swordswoman; Tachibana Kukuri, a mute girl with an uncanny resemblance to Kakeru's deceased sister; Hirohara Yukiko, a lively young girl whose personality shifts to that of a cold-blooded killer when her glasses are removed; and Tajima Takahisa, a youthful pyrokineticist. As the six of them unite to endure and explore this enigmatic world, their predicament worsens as six shadows emerge before them.
