In this story, the setting is a world where nearly all people on Earth have contracted and died from a deadly disease that causes them to become zombies. Thirteen years after this catastrophic event known as "Red Day," humanity has adapted to living outside cities and dreams of one day taking back control of them. As new generations grow up without knowledge of the past world, the story follows Aki and her friends Haru and Natsuki as they embark on a journey to find Aki's missing father.
