Pecola is an orphaned penguin who resides with his grandfather in Cube Town, a small coastal village that boasts an art museum, beach, lighthouse featuring the number 36 above its entrance, and canal. Nestled next to Crescent Bay, this isolated hamlet is surrounded by Rookery Mountains' coastal range and served by regular ships, including weekly freighters delivering mail, foodstuffs, supplies, and occasional tourists from Cubic City, a large metropolis nearby. Despite the summer heat, Glacier Valley, which lies above Cube Town, remains snowbound due to its high altitude.
