In "Ishiyama High," the protagonist, Oga Tatsumi, is a first-year student who has been labeled as the strongest juvenile delinquent. One day while sleeping near a river, he discovers a man floating downstream and pulls him to shore. Upon closer inspection, the man transforms into two halves, revealing a baby boy. This child is the son of the demon king and has been chosen to be raised by Oga with his demon maid Hilda. The story follows Oga's journey as he navigates life at Ishiyama High while also caring for the young boy.
Beelzebub: Hirotta Akachan wa Daimaou!? is the pilot episode of what would become the 60-episode series Beelzebub. The original video animation premiered at the Jump Super Anime Tour in Fukuoka, Japan, on October 23, 2010. It was subsequently released in DVD form along with the ninth volume of the manga on December 29, 2010.
