The narrative takes place during Japan's Sengoku Jidai era and revolves around Furuta Sasuke, a vassal under the powerful warlord Oda Nobunaga. He is deeply passionate about tea ceremonies and material possessions as he strives to attain a prosperous life. Through guidance from Oda and the renowned tea master Sen no Soueki, Furuta follows the path of Hyouge Mono.
