In springtime, during what should be warm weather, Marisa notices something unusual - she believes that a supernatural being known as a youkai is responsible for the cold temperatures. Driven by suspicion, she sets out to investigate this mystery. Her journey takes her to the netherworld, where she encounters the source of the strange occurrence - the very youkai she had suspected. Meanwhile, Reimu, Marisa's friend and a shrine maiden, arrives in time to help. Will she be able to save the day or will all efforts be in vain?
