In this story, friendship is crucial in safeguarding our planet. despite advancements in science, many people still wish for a peaceful existence where they can be content and joyful. the narrative unfolds on oshima, home to akane isshiki, her sister momo, and grandfather kenjirou, who despite their modest circumstances, are well-loved by the community. across the sea lies blue island, with its revolutionary manifestation engine that has resolved global energy issues. this future seems idyllic, but it is threatened when an unknown enemy known as "the alone" emerges and targets the engine. with no effective weapons to defend themselves, our heroes fall into despair until a young girl steps up in a red "palette suit," wielding hidden powers. soon, allies join her fight, and their friendship becomes the only hope for saving the world.

Vividred Operation was released on DVD by Aniplex of America on December 17, 2013.The series received two PlayStation 3 video game adaptations. Vividred Operation: Akane to Mayo-tto Operation was developed and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. on March 28, 2013. Later that year, Vividred Operation: Hyper Intimate Power was developed by Banpresto and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. on June 20.
