The usagiyama shopping district is home to an unusual community of business owners. tamako kitashirakawa, who owns tama-ya with her family, is a clumsy teenage girl. one day, she meets dera mochimazzi, a talking bird claiming to be royalty from another country seeking a bride for his prince. despite his mission, he becomes addicted to mochi and unable to fly back home, so he stays with tamako's family and becomes the community's beloved mascot. meanwhile, tamako's friend mochizou ooji hides his feelings for her due to their families being fierce rivals in making mochi. will this rivalry drive a wedge between them? additionally, dera faces challenges in fulfilling his task of finding the prince's destined bride.
