Suisei no Gargantia

In the distant future, most humans have left Earth and established the Galactic Alliance of Humanity for exploration and prosperity. However, an unexpected threat emerges in the form of Hideauze creatures, leading to a galactic war that threatens human survival. Lieutenant Ledo, a 16-year-old member of the Galactic Alliance, joins the battle against these monsters with Chamber, an autonomous robot. Unfortunately, during the conflict, Ledo loses control and is ejected from space, crashing on Earth. On this blue planet, Gargantia-a fleet of scavenger ships-discovers Chamber in the ocean and salvages it, believing they have found something valuable. Believing their actions were hostile, Ledo kidnaps a young messenger girl named Amy and tries to adapt to his new surroundings. However, he soon realizes that Gargantia's inhabitants are not as dangerous as he initially thought. As Ledo struggles with uncertainty and inability to communicate with his comrades, he must navigate this new environment while preparing for the unexpected.

Suisei no Gargantia was nominated for the Seiun Award in April 2014. The series had a preview screening of episodes 1 and 2 on February 9, 2013, with the regular TV airing starting on April 7.
