In Japan's near future, there resides Aya Okamura in a solitary apartment far from her parents. Her mother has been working abroad since childhood, leaving behind father Kouji and their feline companion Mii-san as the only remaining members of their household. Following an exhausting day, Aya refuses her dad's offer for dinner by claiming she is still at work. However, that very evening, she receives a sudden phone call with potentially life-changing news that could reunite this estranged family.
