The surface appearance of things isn't always accurate, especially for Ruuko Kominato when she receives a deck of cards for the popular card game WIXOSS but finds a girl trapped inside her LRIG or avatar card. Upon meeting others in the same situation, Ruuko discovers that she has now become a "Selector," a player in a unique version of WIXOSS where girls can fight each other to fulfill their deepest desires. However, there's a catch: if they lose three times, their lives will be destroyed. In an ominous game filled with falsehoods and treachery, Ruuko and her new companions must unravel the mysteries behind WIXOSS and understand what truly matters to them before it's too late.
