Chiyo Sakura is a cheerful high school girl who has fallen deeply for Umetarou Nozaki, an oblivious teenage boy. When she confesses her love to him, he hands her an unfamiliar autograph. It turns out that Nozaki is actually a renowned shoujo mangaka, known as Sakiko Yumeno. Due to a series of misunderstandings, Chiyo becomes one of Nozakis assistants in creating his manga. Along the way, she befriends many quirky schoolmates such as Mikoto Mikoshiba and Yuu Kashima. Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun follows Chiyo's journey to help Nozaki with his manga while hoping he will eventually recognize her feelings for him.
