Erika Shinohara has started lying about her romantic relationships in order to gain respect from her new friends. When they ask for a picture of her boyfriend, she quickly takes a photo of a handsome stranger who her friends recognize as Kyouya Sata, the popular and kind-hearted guy. However, when Erika explains her predicament to Kyouya, he turns out to be a cruel sadist who demands that she become his "dog" in exchange for keeping her secret. Reluctantly, Erika agrees to his terms, but as time passes, she begins to see glimpses of the real Kyouya beneath his many layers of personality. As she falls for him, Erika wonders if he will ever feel the same way about her. Will Kyouya finally make an honest woman out of Erika or is she doomed to be a "wolf girl" forever?

Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji covers the storyline of 21 chapters of the manga adaptation, ending with events from volume 6. The anime has been licensed by Madman Entertainment in Australia and by Sentai Filmworks in the United States.
