Despite their continued interest in learning new languages, Shinobu and her friends face unexpected challenges during the new school year. They are constantly distracted by new and different things, while Alice and Yoko struggle with being in different classes from Shinobu and Aya. Karen also has difficulty getting along with her new homeroom teacher, who is trying to figure out how to appear more friendly to her students. Despite these challenges, the gang may find common ground through shared experiences, even if some of those experiences may not be as well-planned as others.
