According to legend, when the Demon God returns, six brave warriors known as the Braves of the Six Flowers will be chosen by the Goddess of Fate. These heroes possess extraordinary abilities and are tasked with battling against evil forces that threaten to turn the world into a living nightmare. Adlet Mayer, who claims to be the strongest man in the world, has arrived on the continent of Piena in hopes of becoming one of these Braves. However, his journey does not go as smoothly as he had planned. Nevertheless, Adlet is eventually selected as one of the six heroes after being greeted by Nashetania Loei Piena Augustra, a fellow Brave and the crown princess of the continent. Rokka no Yuusha, another brave warrior, accompanies Adlet and Nashetania on their quest to defeat the Demon God. They plan to meet up with their fellow heroes at a small temple located outside of the Land of the Howling Demons, where the fiends reside. However, when they finally unite, there are seven heroes present instead of six. This leads the other brave warriors to suspect Adlet of being an impostor. Now on the run, Adlet must use his unique skills and intelligence to identify which member of the group is truly the fraud before it's too late.

Rokka no Yuusha adapts the first novel of Ishio Yamagatas light novel series of the same title.Pony Canyon USA localized the series as Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers in the US in 2015, but cancelled the standard edition Blu-Ray/DVD version of the series in favor of making the collector’s edition a more attractive purchase for fans.
