On May 1st, 1945 in Berlin, Nazi officers conducted a ritual as the Red Army raised the Soviet flag over the Reichskanzlei. For them, the slaughter in the city was nothing more than a perfect sacrifice to bring back the Order of the 13 Lances, a group of supermen who would ultimately destroy the world. Despite their efforts, no one knows if they were successful or not, and few even remember their existence today. In present-day Suwahara City, Ren Fujii spends his days at the hospital after a fight with his friend Shirou Yusa nearly killed them both. Although he tries to appreciate what he has left, Ren is haunted by nightmares of guillotines, murderers, and black-cloaked knights who pursue them. He longs to return to his normal life but fears that even in Suwahara City, everyone eventually loses their minds as Shirou had warned him.
