After Leinas' championship has ended, the royal court magician Alicia employs black magic to create an entranceway to another dimension. Through this doorway, a rabbit leads Alicia into Melfairland, where a tournament is being held in order to bestow upon its victor the Queens Blade. In order to secure her own return to her world, Alicia chooses to participate in this tournament.
