In 2027, Phantasy Star Online 2 is a popular video game at Seiga Academy. However, not everyone enjoys it, including Itsuki Tachibana, who doesn't play games. The school is reviewing the impact of the game on students, and Rina Izumi, the perfectionist student council president, wants to prove that the game isn't responsible for any negative effects. To achieve this goal, she recruits Itsuki as the student council vice president and asks him to learn how to play the game while maintaining his grades. Now, Itsuki must report daily on the game's merits and analyze its potential impact on students.
