In 2046, many aspects of life are conducted on a virtual network. Despite advancements in technology, bullying persists. One such victim is Haruyuki, who experiences harassment at school. However, one day he receives an invitation from Kuroyukihime, the most renowned student in the school. "Would you like to accelerate and progress further ahead, boy?" Intrigued, Haruyuki learns about the "Accel World" and decides to join as Kuroyukihimes knight.

Accel World: Infinite∞Burst was released on Blu-ray and DVD by Viz Media on October 23, 2018.During the first week of the film's release, a complimentary prequel novel to the movie titled Accel World - Mugen e no Chouyaku, written by Reki Kawahara, was given to film watchers. A complementary sequel novel, titled Accel World - Towa e no Kikan, was bundled with the Japanese release of the limited Blu-ray volume on September 28, 2016.
