In a futuristic Tokyo after a disaster, the "Special Public Security Fifth Division Third Mobile Assault Eighth Unit," or "Unit Eight," is a police unit that deals with criminals who use dangerous wearable technology called "Willwear." The squadron is often criticized for their carelessness and disregard for protocol. Asami Kazari has just joined Unit Eight as an undercover agent from the government, tasked with straightening out what she expects to be a group of incompetent fools. However, instead of finding bumbling idiots, she discovers a team of skilled professionals who employ unorthodox methods, limited by strict regulations.
