For many years, there has been conflict between the Niflheim Empire and the kingdom of Lucis in the world of Eos. The empire, which controls much of the land, seeks the power held within the last remaining Crystal located in Insomnia, the capital city of Lucis. In an attempt to safeguard his people from advancing forces, King Regis Caelum CXIII utilized the power of the Crystal to erect a magical barrier around Insomnia. He also established an elite military unit known as the Kingsglaive, which drew its strength from the king and protected Lucis borders from external threats. One member of this group is Nyx, often referred to as "The Hero" by his comrades due to his overconfidence and desire to save everyone. However, his pride led him to disregard orders from his superiors, resulting in a reduction in rank. Currently, he serves as a guard at the city gates. Recent news has emerged that Regis intends to sign a peace treaty with their longstanding adversaries, the Niflheim Empire. This development may bring about changes for Nyx and his fellow Kingsglaive members as they navigate this new era of cooperation between the two nations.
