The visual diary documents Kiitarou's experiences with youkai. He is a boy with a powerful spirit sense, but when he entered a forbidden storehouse, he was expelled from his home. Afterward, he found a new residence and met Suzu, a zashiki warashi (house spirit). Together, they attracted various spirit creatures, including a nurikabe that appeared as a wall blocking travelers and mokumokuren that manifested as eyes on a torn paper wall.
