In the land of Atlatan, peace between the Fantasia Union and Factory Alliance was supposed to be established through the marriage of Sir Alexis Douse and Lady Marrine Kreische. However, this joyful occasion turned into a tragedy when the ceremony was interrupted by a powerful convergence of "Chaos," an evil energy from another dimension that corrupted the land and brought forth monsters and demons. The Demon Lord of Diabolos appeared within this energy and instantly murdered the archdukes of both factions, shattering any hope for peace between them. Siluca Meletes, a mage from the Factory Alliance, is traveling through the Chaos-infested countryside to study under a master magician. She is intercepted by a group of soldiers working with the Federation and rescued by Theo Cornaro, a young warrior carrying a mysterious "Crest." This magical symbol gives its wielder the ability to banish Chaos. Theo has no allegiance to any specific domain but hopes to attain the rank of Lord so that he can liberate his home town of Sistina from its tyrannical ruler and the Chaos spreading within it. Impressed by his noble goal, Siluca enters into a magical contract with Theo and they embark on a journey to restore balance to their war-torn land.
