The abyss is a deep hole in the ground filled with strange creatures and items from an ancient time. it was formed by natural processes over a long period of time. at its bottom lies unknown mysteries. many brave people, known as divers, have tried to explore it but only the bravest and most skilled are hailed as heroes. one such hero is riko, daughter of a missing white whistle named lyza the annihilator. she wants to become like her mother and discover the secrets of the abyss. however, she can only roam its upper layer because she's still a novice red whistle. during her exploration, she meets a mysterious robot who looks like a boy but has no memory of his past. riko names him reg and they decide to venture into the abyss together to find out more about him and see the bottom of the hole. they don't know what awaits them in the depths of the abyss.

The first season adapts the first three manga volumes in their entirety, and it concludes with the first chapter of the manga's fourth volume.
