In recent years, there was an increase in popularity among superhero characters who represent towns and perform on stage to raise acclaim for their respective communities. The most renowned local heroine, Kamidaio, is set to appear in Hinano's small town. Mikan Kises sister Yuzu is thrilled about the event, but when they attend the show together, it gets canceled. Mikan vows to make sure her distressed sibling can witness the performance. To achieve this goal, she turns to her classmate An Akagi, who is a fanatic of local heroines. Together with An, Mikan puts on their own Kamidaio show in homemade costumes that captivate the audience despite its low production value. The recording of the performance is done by Misaki Shirogane, whose family background involves politics and who aims to revitalize Hinano's community. Impressed with their show, Misaki recruits Mikan and An as the official local heroines of Hinano. As they work on improving their performances, the group enlists the help of various colorful individuals.
