During the Heian Period in Japan's history, evil spirits were still present in forests, mountains, and rivers. A girl, accompanied by her lover, faced these malevolent beings while disguised as a man. Known as "Kaidomaru," she bore a Chinese character "Flame" tattoo on her arm, one of the "Four Devas." Kaidomaru fought for the honor of her lost love, Raikou Minamotono, who had given his life to protect Kyoto from the wicked deeds of an evil princess. This former playmate of Kaidomaru's had become her ultimate foe.
