Akira Tachibana is a high school student who used to run track and has experienced a severe foot injury that affects her ability to race as she did before. Despite being considered attractive by her classmates, she's not interested in any of the boys around school. While working part-time at Garden Cafe, Akira develops feelings for Masami Kondou, the 45-year-old manager, despite their age difference. Kondou is kind and caring towards his customers, which draws Akira to him.
