In 2050, an engineer named derrida yvain gained recognition due to his work on the "autonomous machine dz" at rebuild, a company founded by his father. along with his colleague nathan, he discovered a flaw in the machines and tried to warn their boss, but were ignored. despite being aware of the danger, they decided to postpone taking any action and went to nathan's daughter mage's birthday party instead. the next day, derrida and nathan were attacked by unknown forces and fell into a cold sleep machine. ten years later, derrida woke up in a devastated world at war. while being attacked by out-of-control machines, he remembered nathan's last words: "take care of mage." despite the harsh fate that had befallen him, derrida set off to seek mage.
