It is stated that no one is aware of Torako's past as a delinquent, as she is now viewed as an exemplary student by all her peers. However, this changes when Nokotan, who has antlers and a deer nose, enters her life. Nokotan's antlers are not the only unusual feature; she can also detect Torako's past through her deer nose. Whether at school or at the zoo, Nokotan's presence causes chaos wherever she goes. As a result, Torako has numerous inquiries about Nokotan's identity - is she a deer, a girl, or something in-between?
