Yuragi-sou was previously a hot springs inn but is now a boarding house with incredibly low rent. Despite being mostly empty, it has some unusual residents. There are rumors that the place is haunted by an evil ghost that scares away potential tenants. This makes it the perfect home for Fuyuzora Kogarashi, who is homeless and looking for an affordable place to stay while also trying to exorcise ghosts. When he arrives, Kogarashi prepares for a confrontation with the ghost, but he discovers that it's not as malicious as rumors suggested. Instead, it's the spirit of Yuuna, a beautiful silver-haired girl who can only remember her name before death. What makes things even more confusing is that all other tenants at Yuragi-sou can see Yuuna and have their own supernatural abilities. Kogarashi tries to figure out what keeps Yuuna stuck in the living world, as she's destined to become an evil spirit if she doesn't move on. Amidst all the chaos caused by his quirky roommates, he works to uncover her regret and help her find peace so she can finally rest in peace.
