Hikari Tsutsui finds life in the 2D world to be much simpler than reality. Being socially awkward and introverted, he spends most of his time playing video games and watching anime. After being punished by cleaning the pool for arriving late, Tsutsui meets Iroha Igarashi. Despite her notoriety among female classmates, he tries to avoid any interaction with her due to her infamous reputation for messing around with boys. However, 3D Kanojo: Real Girl is a story that revolves around these two outcasts - a boy who experiences emotions for the first time and struggles to express them, and a girl determined to help him break free from his shell.
