After the world was destroyed and people were left with nothing but numbers, each person's identity would be marked by their own "Count," which could represent any number related to their life. This count could determine whether they lived or died if it reached zero. In 305 of the Alcian calendar, Hina inherited a mission from her mother whose count had dropped to zero. She was tasked with finding the Legendary Red Baron. During her journey, she encountered Licht, a swordsman who wore a mask and tried to conceal his identity because he was considered degenerate for having a low count.
