Aoyama is an intelligent and inquisitive fourth-grader who enjoys exploring the world around him. He has a lot of potential and will soon become an adult. For now, he must live life as a child. Summer has arrived, and school is almost over. Aoyama has a crush on an older woman he met at his dentist's office, who is coaching him in chess. Additionally, a colony of penguins has appeared in their small town. The source of these waddling visitors remains unknown. Aoyama and his friends embark on a research mission to investigate the mysterious penguins using scientific methods and principles. Their findings only lead them to more puzzling questions.
