In a realm where magic and adventure reign supreme lies Naral Island. With each passing generation, an evil Demon Lord emerges to wreak havoc on the land, prompting the birth of a hero to vanquish him. For countless centuries, this cycle has persisted without end in sight. The latest heroine, Juulia "Yusha" Charldetto, is nearing completion of her valiant campaign alongside her companions: responsible priest Seiran "Seira" Élénoir, enigmatic mage Meiza "Mei" Endust, and hyper-energetic warrior Fai Fai. In the climactic battle against the Demon Lord, Yusha's party attempts a risky spell to cast their foe into the vortex of time. However, the incantation goes awry, sending Yusha and her friends back in time before the Demon Lord, before Yusha becomes the heroine, and before the group had even begun their journey as adventurers. With their recollections of the future erased, the four girls restart their aspirations to become the Hero's Party, determined to vanquish the Demon Lord. However, fate takes an unexpected turn when the Demon Lord is also sent back in time with her memories intact. Transformed into a young girl named Mao, she infiltrates the adventurers school as a teacher, plotting to thwart Yusha's rise to heroism before it can occur. Thus commences the tale of Yusha and her friends as they embark on their quest to defeat the Demon Lord, unaware that the very enemy they seek is lurking among them.
