Umihiko Yamahiko  

海ひこ山ひこ, The Sea Boy and the Mountain Boy

A long time ago there were two brothers named Umihiko and Yamahiko. The eldest brother made a living by fishing in the sea, while the younger brother earned his livelihood hunting birds and animals in the mountains. One day, Yamahiko proposed to Umihiko that they exchange their respective equipment - his bow and arrows for Umihikos fishing tackle, and vice versa. After some persuasion, Umihiko agreed to the trade. However, on the following day, both brothers faced difficulties as they were not skilled enough in their new roles. Yamahiko accidentally lost the fishing hook, while Umihiko injured his arm. Despite this setback, Yamahiko felt remorse for causing Umihiko to lose his precious fishing tackle and vowed to make amends.
