In Freyjagard, seven Japanese high school students with exceptional abilities have found themselves after surviving a plane crash. They are now in a medieval fantasy realm where two races coexist: the byuma, who possess animal traits and incredible strength, and the hyuma, who have a small chance of magical aptitude. After being saved by Winona and her elven daughter Lyrule from Elm Village, they vow to repay the people for their kindness and find a way back home. Tsukasa Mikogami, Japan's prime minister, leads these young prodigies as they attempt to influence Freyjagard and gather information and resources required to achieve their objectives. He advises them to be cautious not to harm this world by overexerting themselves, as there is an ancient legend about seven heroes from another realm who defeated a malevolent dragon. Tsukasa directs the group to study the culture around them and search for any clues that may lead them back to Earth.
